We spotted this a calendar in a hotel in Tarija. In small print it explains about the Battle of Ingavi in 1841. The hotel had a few more ‘informative’ calendars from this company, about important historic events and the provinces of Bolivia. They all featured semi-naked, highly photo-shopped women.
Oh my….haha! Can’t say I’ve seen that in the textbooks.
I’ve only been out of the country for 2 weeks but that is a real flashback! At least there is something genuinely informative on it, I don’t think the same could be said for the Pirelli calendars of yesteryear.
True! Although I think Pirelli’s trying these days: http://m.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/2012/dec/30/pirelli-calendar-photographer-steve-mccurry
Hmm, why not. This might be great way to get them interested in history. đŸ™‚
